FC Goa suffered their second straight defeat as NorthEast United FC beat them 2-0 in the Indian Super League here on Wednesday.
Tomi Djuric's 69th minute opener was followed by a set piece 11 minutes later where Nestor Albiah headed in a corner that deflected off FC Goa defender Odei Onaindia and led to an own goal to double the lead.
The Gaurs' 12-match unbeaten streak was snapped by Mohun Bagan Super Giant at the same venue last week.
He must have been hoping to bounce back against a Highlanders unit that has enjoyed modest success so far in the campaign.
However, Juan Pedro Benali & Co. bounced back strongly from last weekend's 4-2 defeat by the Mariners with a clinical performance that saw them keep a clean sheet on Wednesday.

Northeast United FC have received a boost since striker Tomi Juric joined in January and the forward scored his fifth goal in four games with a spot-kick which he converted with ease.
Juric boasts a tall frame but was flexible enough to smartly win a free-kick from Seriton Fernandes as the game was about to enter its final 20 minutes.
There was never any doubt as to who would step up for the penalty and Juric drilled the ball into the bottom right corner after FC Goa goalkeeper Arshdeep Singh had dived wrongly to his left.
Unfortunately for the visitors, Juric had to be carried off the pitch on a stretcher soon after, having appeared to have suffered a knock. The extent of the injury is still unknown and could have a huge impact on NorthEast United FC and their prospects moving forward.
