The Emerging Markets Center welcomed Suresh Muthuswami, President of North America for Tata Consultancy Services, for a fireside chat to discuss the promise of artificial intelligence and other business technologies in today's business world as part of the Vivek Lecture Series and Vandana Sharma India.
About Suresh Muthuswami
As President of North America for Tata Consulting Services, Suresh Muthuswami oversees TCS's largest market to drive business growth, strengthen customer relationships and help clients on their digital transformation journeys. An advocate of STEM education, Suresh leads TCS' integrated efforts across North America to provide underserved communities and the next generation of talent with the foundational computer science skills for 21st century careers.
Prior to becoming President North America, Suresh was president and global head of Banking, Financial Services and Insurance Platforms at TCS. In this role, he was responsible for creating a vision, driving digital and business strategy, overseeing business and digital transformation efforts for clients and leading TCS' global service delivery in financial services and insurance.
Suresh also previously served as Global Insurance and Healthcare Leader for TCS. Worked extensively with C-Suite leaders at Global 1000 clients, helping design and oversee key transformation programs. During his tenure, he successfully guided these businesses and grew them multiple times – creating agile units focused on innovation and meeting customer needs, supporting investment in initiatives and ideas for growth and differentiation.
Prior to joining TCS, Suresh led a technology group in India, led global program management for a major UK engagement, and worked at a consulting start-up, helping it grow revenue to over $15 million in two years.
Suresh is a member of the Connecticut State Governor's Workforce Council and serves on the Board of Executives for Corporate Purposes (CECP) as well as the Greater New York Region of the American Red Cross. He holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics and a master's degree in computer applications from PSG College of Technology in India and is a graduate of Harvard Business School's Advanced Management Program.

The India Lecture Series brings thought leaders to Northeastern University for free and public lectures on critical issues affecting the world's second most populous country. It is now endowed and known as the Vivek and Vandana Sharma India Lecture Series.
