Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, Assam
IIT Guwahati is a public engineering institution established in 1994. It is the sixth of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) established by the Government of India. Located in Guwahati, Assam, India, it is spread over an area of 704 acres on the north bank of the Brahmaputra River.
IIT Guwahati has 16 hostels for students, twelve for boys, three for girls and one for married scholars. The hostels are located within the campus and are well maintained. Students are accommodated in single or double rooms based on their year of study. Each guest house has its own mess and dining facilities and is equipped with facilities such as a TV room, food pantry, stationery store, library, exercise room and gym.

Silchar National Institute of Technology, Assam
National Institute of Technology Silchar (NIT Silchar) was established in 1967 as a Regional Engineering College (REC) in Silchar, Assam, India. It was one of the first five RECs established in the country. In 2002, it was upgraded to the status of a National Institute of Technology and declared an Institute of National Importance.
NIT Silchar has 11 hostels for students, eight for boys and three for girls. The hostels are located within the campus and are well maintained. They offer a variety of room types, including single, double and triple rooms. All rooms have bathrooms and are equipped with basic amenities such as beds, desks, chairs and fans.
Meghalaya National Institute of Technology
National Institute of Technology (NIT) Meghalaya was established in 2010 as an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Education. It is one of the 31 NITs.
NIT Meghalaya has seven hostels for students, four for boys and three for girls. The hostels are located in the campus and are well maintained. They offer a variety of room types, including single, double and triple rooms.
Agartala National Institute of Technology
National Institute of Technology Agartala (NIT Agartala) was established in 1965 as Tripura Engineering College, a state government institution. It was converted into a National Institute of Technology in 2006. The college started its operation in 1965 with three undergraduate programs in engineering: Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering. In the early years, the college was affiliated to Calcutta University. However, in 1972, the college was granted the autonomy to award its own degrees.
NIT Agartala has two hostels for girls, each of which can accommodate around 250 students. and six hostels for boys which can accommodate about 500 students. Hostels offer a variety of room types, including single, double and triple rooms.
Manipur National Institute of Technology
National Institute of Technology Manipur (NIT Manipur) was established in 2010. NIT Manipur started its academic session in 2010 with three undergraduate programs in engineering: Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering and Electrical Engineering. The institute has since expanded its offerings to include five more undergraduate programs: Electronics and Communications Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Information Technology, and Chemical Engineering.
NIT Manipur offers hostel accommodation for both male and female students. Currently, there are two boys hostels and one girls hostel in the campus but the number of seats is limited. The institute is in the process of constructing more hostels. Students interested in staying in the hostel must fill out an application form during the admission process. Seats are allocated in order of priority.
