SRM University-AP has now established a link with Northeastern University, Boston, USA, with a vision of mutual efforts for the advancement of education and research. A Memorandum of Cooperation (MOU) has recently been signed in this regard between the two universities. This is a major collaborative venture with leading universities such as Northeastern University, which will lead the university to the path of advanced research and educational programs.
The SRMAP MoU committee is aggressively working to bring top universities around the world for students to benefit and enhance their careers. Northeastern University is part of the top 5% of universities in the world and this partnership will enable our students to visit, learn and explore from a top US university.
Our students are the main beneficiaries of this MoU as it provides them a platform to explore a study abroad program there including obtaining a UG degree from a top US university. Other beneficiaries include faculty members and scholars, for whom joint research projects may be permitted in the future.
The first MoU signed is a general MoU that helps SRM University-AP to discuss with Northeastern University about the possibilities of cooperation. The following activities are possible with the current signed MoU-
• Mobility of faculty, academics and students between Institutions
• Joint teaching, research or cultural activity
• Student services and support
• Professional development programs for faculty and staff.
• Partnerships based on programs
• Joint development of ongoing and new curricula and academic projects
• Collaboration in academic publications and other material of mutual interest
The University Memorandum Committee will further strengthen collaboration with specific departments. The university is already in the process of expanding the collaboration at the department level, including Computer Science and Engineering and Mechanical Engineering, for starters. Later, other streams of engineering, science and management will be included in the alliance. SRMAP is also exploring opportunities for internships, semester abroad programs, and other educational and research activities that will greatly benefit our students.
