Cleveland Clinic is once again the top hospital in Ohio and among the best in the nation in the latest US News & World Report rankings.
In the 2023-24 Best Hospitals lists from US News & World Report, Cleveland Clinic is ranked No. 1 in cardiology and cardiac surgery in the nation and is the No. 1 ranked hospital in Ohio.
This marks the 34th year for the ranking, and this year's list looked at approximately 484 hospitals to determine the rankings.

Analysts at US News & World Report looked at a variety of factors — including mortality rates, overall patient experience, quality of nursing care and the hospital's success in getting patients home — in determining the various rankings for everything from cancer to orthopedics.
“A recent US News user survey revealed that more than four in five (84%) consider a hospital's quality metrics to be important factors when deciding where to seek treatment for a serious medical problem,” said Ben Harder, head of health analytics and management. editor of US News in a statement. “Consumers want helpful resources to help them evaluate which hospital can best meet their specific care needs. The 2023-2024 Best Hospitals rankings offer patients and their consulting physicians a data-driven resource to compare performance on outcomes, patient satisfaction and other metrics that matter to them.”

Cleveland Clinic
Cleveland Clinic was once again recognized as one of the nation's top hospitals and was among only 22 and the only one in Ohio to make the US News & World Report honor list.
Along with being the No. 1 hospital for cardiology and cardiac surgery, Cleveland Clinic was ranked in the Top 50 nationally in these specialties:
- Second in urology.
- Tuesday in rheumatology.
- Sixth in geriatrics and obstetrics/gynecology.
- Eighth in gastroenterology.
- 10th in cancer treatment.
- 13th in Pulmonology and Lung Surgery.
- 15th in orthopedics.
- 16th in neurology and neurosciences.
- 24th in diabetes and endocrinology.
- 25th in ear, nose and throat.
The Cleveland Clinic health system has 22 hospitals and 275 outpatient facilities throughout Ohio and other states and internationally.
In the Akron metro area, Cleveland Clinic Akron General was ranked No. 1 with 16 “high performing” ratings in various specialties. Akron General also placed 5th in Ohio.
Summa Health
Akron-based Summa was ranked No. 2 in the Akron region and 14th in the state. Summa was also ranked as a “high performer” in eight processes and conditions.
University Hospitals
Cleveland-based University Hospitals, which operates UH Portage Medical Center and is affiliated with Western Reserve Hospital in Cuyahoga Falls, was No. 3 in the state and ranked 39th in the nation for cancer treatment. He earned 16 “high performance” rankings in various categories.
Aultman Hospital
Aultman Hospital in Canton was ranked 11th in the state and earned eight “high performing” rankings in various categories.
