New partnership creates opportunities for apprentices to earn work credit, establishing new pathways to degrees
new York, January 16, 2024 /PRNewswire/ –Today, Multiversein cooperation with Northeastern University, launched the first path degree in the US for Multiverse apprentices. The applied learning and work experience that Multiverse apprentices receive on the job will now be recognized with credits towards a Bachelor's degree in Northeastern University. This milestone comes just over a year after the Multiverse was made the first apprenticeship provider in the UK to obtain degree-awarding powers.
“Apprenticeships offer an important route to financial opportunity throughout a career and thousands of workers have already benefited from our programmes,” he said Gary Eimerman, Chief Learning Officer at Multiverse. “The critical skills apprentices learn through their programs will now have the added recognition of college credit—earned debt-free and without having to spend time outside of paid work. This partnership is even more proof that applied, learning at work is the most effective way to close critical skills gaps.”
The new collaboration between Multiverse and Northeastern allows for current and prospective apprentices – as well as graduates – in the US Advanced Analytics program to earn 12 credits toward a degree in Analytics within of the Northeast College of Professional Studies. As one of the of the Northeast online programs, learners can complete their degree remotely, on campus Bostonor through a hybrid approach – opening access to all US learners, regardless of location.
It is renowned for its leadership in development cooperation programs, Northeastern has an extensive history of valuing the workplace as an effective classroom. In partnership with Multiverse, the curriculum confirms the high level of training and experience apprentices receive throughout the 12-month programme. This new degree route will provide Advanced Analytics apprentices with the opportunity to further deepen their knowledge and skills in data recognized by a degree from a high quality higher education provider.

Apprentices pursuing the degree will receive the college credits they earn during their apprenticeship at no cost, along with paid work. When registering at Northeastern University College of Professional Studies, completed Multiverse apprentices are recognized as having completed four core courses, totaling 12 credits. Individuals with prior college credit will have courses reviewed and applicable transfer credit awarded. Multiverse will work closely with relevant employers to ensure that the course of study after completing an Advanced Analytics Apprenticeship is cost effective and many businesses have existing tuition benefit schemes for current employees.
