SMITHFIELD, RI – College of Business Dean Madan Annavarjula, Ph.D., has been elected to the role of president for the Northeast Business Deans Association (NEBDA) after a year of leadership service as vice president. The appointment was announced at the organization's annual conference in Quebec City, Sept. 13-14. His term begins immediately.
NEBDA's mission is to promote and enhance collegiate business education in the Northeastern United States and Eastern Canada, including sharing best practices on issues facing business educators. Its current membership includes 40 universities from the northeastern US and Canada.
“I am honored to have the opportunity to serve in this leadership position,” said Annavarjula. “I look forward to working with my colleagues at NEBDA as we continue to explore ways to navigate the changing currents in higher education and learn from each other's best practices.”
Madan Annavarjula came to Bryant University in 2006 and founded the Bachelor of Science in International Business (BSIB) Program, which is currently ranked No. 25 in the nation by US News & World Report Annual College Rankings 2019. She was promoted to Associate Dean of the College of Business in 2013 and became Dean in 2016. Before coming to Bryant, Annavarjula was an assistant professor at Northern Illinois University and an adjunct professor at Sacred Heart University. Annavarjula received his PhD in International Business from Temple University's Fox School of Business. MBA in Marketing Management from Karnatak University, India. and his Bachelor of Science degree from Gulbarga University, India. He received the 2018 International Trade Educator of the Year Award from NASBITE (North American Small Business International Trade Educators).
Annavarjula has published in many journals including International Journal of Business and Emerging Markets and International Journal of Business Innovation and Research, and conferences around the world were also presented. He received the 2018 International Trade Educator of the Year Award from NASBITE (North American Small Business International Trade Educators).
