United Table offers unique global cuisines and helps students celebrate different cultures
CHARLOTTE, NC, September 21, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — Recognized leader in food service contract management Chartwells Higher Education announced United Table, a new dining experience focused on global flavors. Students at Northeastern University and University of Illinois Chicago are the first to experience United Table's bold, modern dining experience that celebrates the stories of cultures, cuisines and people around the world through authentic dishes, ingredients and cooking techniques.
Research from Institute of International Education (IIE) shows that international student enrollment in higher education is increasing. According to the IIEs Fall 2022 snapshot of international student enrollments, the number of new international students enrolled at US institutions rose 7% last year, building on an 80% rebound in new enrollments over the previous academic year. With United Table, Chartwells is creating a customized dining location that not only meets the needs and wants of international students, but opens the door for all students to experience new cultures through food.

Chartwells chefs have carried out extensive market research and taste testing to create United Table's special menu, which includes a variety of concepts and recipes including:
- Asian cuisines with Korean fried chicken, pork banh mi and chicken biryani
- Mediterranean cuisines with Turkish ezme salad, beef shawarma and chicken shatta
- Latin cuisines with birria tacos, Jamaican chicken and arepas
- Global breakfast options with English breakfast, calendula and Japanese fluffy pancakes
