Woodcliff Lake, NJ (February 8, 2024) — BMW Motorrad USA, in partnership with the non-profit organization Backcountry Discovery Routes is proud to announce the Northern California expedition film premiere of the third BDR route collaboration between the two partners.

The film will premiere at the Sofia Performing Arts Center (Sutter Theatre) in Sacramento, California on Saturday, February 17, at 5:00 p.m. PST. You can buy Premier tickets at BDR Film Premier.
The BDR Northern California Mission Film takes viewers along with the BDR team and special guest BMW Motorrad rider Richard Few, an instructor at the BMW US Rider Academy in Greer, SC, to explore the fascinating landscapes and history of Northern California.
“Riding the BDR on a BMW R 1250 GS gave me new insights that will definitely help us better prepare students training for their first or fifth BDR.” said Richie Fu. “We've been teaching students important skills, from their first MSF lesson to preparing them for a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Africa, for many years. If you can dream it, we can prepare you for it. So, I invite everyone to join us in South Carolina and take a class at the BMW US Rider Academy. Together, we can help make this dream a reality.”
The newest BDR route takes riders from Mammoth Lakes, CA on a 940-mile experience through the forests, grasslands and slopes of the Great Sierra Nevada and the high desert of the Madoc Plateau before finishing at the Oregon border outside Alturas , CA. Riders will delve into California history as they pass towns and sites dating back to the 1880s.
“BMW Motorrad is very excited to be working with DBR on its newest route, Northern California. We strongly believe in and support BDR's mission to make our great country more accessible to the adventure riding community.” said Luciana Francisco, Head of Marketing and Marketing, BMW Motorrad USA. “BDR routes not only bring riders to memorable locations, but also provide financial support to the communities that exist in these areas. This is one reason BMW Motorrad USA will always be a champion.”
On March 16, BDR will host a film screening and mini-ADVExpo at Bike Shed Moto in the Art District of Los Angeles. For those in Southern California, BDR is hosting a film screening and mini-ADVExpo event on March 16 in the Los Angeles Arts District.
