PRESQUE ISLE, Maine (WAGM) – Good morning everyone and Happy Friday! We returned to a more comfortable situation with dew points back in the 50s and temperatures in the low 60s.
This is partly due to a weaker cold front that passed through the area overnight. It brings us a welcome return to comfortable weekend air. And as high pressure takes hold, falling humidity levels will be combined with plenty of sunshine.
You can see how much of a difference the system made to our temperatures by looking at the northeast view. Compared to yesterday morning, places like Virginia and Maryland are significantly cooler. That colder air extends as far north as New York and here locally.
Temperatures this afternoon will eventually reach the upper 70s and low 80s. Going by the hour for you, we won't have much cloud throughout the day, with the exception of a few thin high level clouds, which really won't block the sunshine in any way. That continues to be the trend overnight tonight, with lows dropping to near averages into the mid to upper 50s.
The sunshine continues tomorrow with temperatures again reaching the low 80s. As a weaker system makes a close pass over the area from Northern Canada, a passing shower is possible late in the evening. It will likely pass overnight providing very minimal impacts overall. Based on the track of this weaker disturbance, showers are likely to be limited to areas to the north.
