KANSAS CITY, Mo. — It's important to remember that it's not just those areas near the Truman Sports Complex voting on Question 1 Tuesday.
The eastern suburbs of Jackson County and beyond also have the question before them.
On Tuesday, several voters spoke to FOX4 about their fan connections to the Kansas City Chiefs or Royals that played into their decision. But others say they have struggled with the idea of baseball moving downtown.
“My phone has been bombarded with unsolicited calls. I don't know how or why, other than party affiliation, with texts saying vote this way or vote that way and that Andy Reid voted today. Well, you know, I'm glad to know he voted, but I don't really appreciate this place,” said one voter in Lake Lotawana.

“It just seems like a bad way to congest downtown,” Chris Miller said.
“Well, I was in favor of keeping the Royals and Chiefs in Kansas City as long as they can,” said another voter in the district.
In a precinct in Lone Jack, a couple said they don't want to risk the change, with the Kansas City Chiefs as the focus.
“I guess part of my decision was that it's easy for us to get from here. Instead of liking wherever they're going, somewhere else,” Kacy Wolff said.
“I was talking to some people yesterday and they were like, 'Oh, are you going to vote tomorrow?' And I was like, “Oh yeah.” because he was like “You don't want him to go to Kansas, do you?” And I was like, 'No, I don't,'” Brett Wolff said.

But baseball, and the proposed venue change, remained controversial.
“It's not that it doesn't sit right. It's something I didn't want to deal with,” another voter told Lone Jack.
“I like it where it is and I hardly ever go,” he said.
