As a result of the fires in Canadacities and states in the northeastern part of the United States, such as New York, are currently experiencing extreme air quality issues.
More than 100 million Americans have felt its impact poor or hazardous air quality; as smoke from Canada's wildfires drifts into the United States.
Notifications have been issued from New England to the Southeast, according to the Environmental Protection Agency.
The severity of the poor air quality led to two Major League Baseball games postponed − one in New York and one in Philadelphia, and there was an impact on airports and flights in this area.
The good news? If you live in Naples, or just about anywhere in Florida, there's nothing to worry about — for now. As of Thursday, June 8, the air quality in Naples, according to the Air Quality Index Map, showed the color green, which, in the caption of the map, means “good” quality.
You'll notice throughout the state, especially on the east coast, there are some locations in yellow, indicating moderate air quality issues.

What are the symptoms of poor outdoor air quality?
According to National Weather Serviceexposure to air pollution could lead to:
- headaches
- irritated eyes and sinuses
- fatigue
- difficulty breathing
- chest pains
- asthma attacks
- irritated throats
- increased cough
Smoke from wildfires can also irritate the eyes
- Naples and the surrounding areas are prone to wildfires every spring.
- Contact lens wearers may find them drier, meaning a greater chance of irritation.
- Make sure you have your saline, clean them.
