Truancy has been on the rise for years, but experts say more students are struggling to return to the classroom after the COVID-19 pandemic.

It's almost back to school time for students across York County.
Public school districts and private schools will open their doors in August for the 2023-2024 school year.
Some organizations and businesses are giving away free school supplies and offers free haircuts before school starts.
Southern York County and Southeast School Districts have partnered with the W. Dale Brougher YMCA Foundation, area businesses and nonprofits for a free giveaway. It will be from 2-5pm on August 6th at the YMCA at 100 Constitution Ave.
The Northeast School District also has one for its students from 4 to 6 p.m. on Aug. 19, according to her Facebook page. Hosted by York Masons.
