Seton Hall Basketball got its season back on track, defeating CAA rival Northeastern 88-75. The Pirates pick up a much-needed fifth home win of the season as they prepare for a Dec. 5 road game against a strong Baylor team.
But as for this game, Seton Hall kept that control and had the advantage for most of the match, holding the lead for 35:55 minutes. The Pirates shot the ball 59.3 percent from the field in an efficient night for the home fans on Greek night at the Prudential Center for the school's fraternities.
The fans got the show they wanted, a double-digit win that didn't have to be too sweaty, but there might have been more expectations surrounding this game and how the Pirates played. The Northeasterners did a very good job of fighting and hanging on as long as they could. The Huskies played a great game as they looked to upset Seton Hall on the road, but fell short in the second half.
The first half saw Seton Hall only lead by seven, but a 52-point second half from Seton Hall was what propelled them to an easy victory. However, Northeastern scored 46 in the second half, so this turned out to be a high-scoring affair.
But the Pirates now look at Baylor, so what can they take away from this matchup? And what do they need to improve on for their upcoming trip to Waco?
