From New York to New Jersey to New Paltz, enticing new coffee shops have popped up across the northeastern United States this year.
Some combine coffee with high-end culinary programs, while others focus strictly on coffees from specific countries and regions, offering impeccable expressions of coffee terroir. Several of the companies on the list have made bold dives into retail after establishing their baking operations for years.
